At the University of Twente, you can participate in a large variety of (performing) arts. This ranges from joining one of the associations, watch performances or join a cultural course. There are many organizations involved in making this offer reality and all of them offer something different. Here is an overview of all the different kinds of cultural activities you can join as a student, employee or just as a (performing) arts enthusiast.
There are 16 cultural associations active at the University of Twente, divided over four sectors: Arts & Games, Dance, Music and Theater. Cultural associations are run by students and not only offer weekly moments to come together and practice your art but also have regular activities, drinks and most associations showcase their work in yearly performances. You can find an overview of all the associations here.
The Vrijhof building is the headquarter of Culture & Events, and also offers sound studios, an audio room with good acoustics, and two stage-halls used for concerts and theatre performances. Culture & Events’ staff can advise you about everything concerning culture and events, including the fine art of theatrical technique.
Vrijhof Culture presents activities related to arts and culture. This includes performances, concerts, exhibitions, and 16 very active cultural student associations. Not only in the Vrijhof but also in other buildings and sometimes even outside: the Campus as a stage!
