On the 1st of March we will have the Apollo Open Stage! We have 17 acts ready for you to show their talents, varying from bands to stand up comedy to tapdance!

Make sure to come and see! The entry is free and you can walk in or out any time.

On Friday the 1st of March, 20:00, the Apollo Open Stage will return! 🎤

During this evening, students can show their talents on the stage in the Agora, in the Vrijhof. All types of acts are welcome. If you have a question, please let the committee (openstage@apollo.utwente.nl) know as well, and we can help you.

On the 3rd of February it is time again for our annual Winter Fair. During the Winter Fair we raise money for a charity. This year we will be donating to Artsen Zonder Grenzen. There will be several workshops, performances, drink sales and much more!

To enter the Winter Fair you can purchase a ticket for €5 which includes 3 coins. Afterwards additional coins can be bought for €1 per piece. With these coins you can visit workshops, performances and buy drinks or food. Besides these there are also free activities that you can join without having to pay coins.

The various activities can be found in the schedule below, the prices are also indicated!

If you would like to join the baking competition, this is what you have to do:

• Bring something you baked
• Bring an ingredient list for allergens
• Think of a cool name for your creation (or yourself 😉 )
• Try other peoples creations and vote on your favorite!

For everyone who is not very good in the kitchen or would like to try out the creations and is not able to bring something themselves. No worries! You can pay 1 coin to try all the goodies and vote as well!

The winner of the competition will get a small prize!

The Winter Fair is made possible with the help of the following associations and committees!

With every upcoming new year a massive elegant ball is organised where all of us from the cultural sector come together to showcase our love for culture in style. And this year we will celebrate culture with what Twente relates the most to culture: DRINKING & FARMERS, but of course, we’ll keep it FANCY. 🤵👸

On Friday, May 12th we welcome you as FANCY FARMERS in Rico Latino. Any lover of culture, be it active within a cultural association or not can join our Gala.

Ticket Reservation & Sale

You can reserve your ticket using the form below, and then come and pay for + pick up the tickets at the Apollo Room (Vrijhof 134)! Union cardholders pay 37€, and non-union cardholders pay 40€ for a night with FREE drinks, live music and a DJ!

You can buy your tickets in person at the Apollo Room. The pick-up & payment moments (all in the Apollo Room) are the following:

• Friday April 28th 12.30 – 13.45
• Monday May 1st 12.30 – 13.45
• Wednesday May 3rd 12.30 – 13.45
• Monday May 8th 12.30 – 13.45

You can reserve a ticket for in-person pick-up below.

You can also get your ticket online, but you will have to use the confirmation E-Mail as your entrance ticket. You won’t get a physical ticket.

IMPORTANT: It is not possible buy tickets at the door on 12th May!

The Gala Committee will also be coming by all the cultural associations to sell tickets!

Dear culture enthusiasts!

We have some spots for culture do-groups that the associations aren’t able to fully fill, so we thought it would be cool to make some do-groups across culture associations! Do you wanna adopt some kiddo’s, or just join as a side-parent and show them what Culture has to offer! Relive your own Kick-In and sign up as a parent now!

We’re most likely to get a do-group at Computer Science and/or Industrial Design, so if you’re in one of those studies, please consider signing up! People from other studies are also very welcome, the help show all the new people the what it’s like to be a UT student.

Spring has sprung and that means it’s time for a party! Study Association Communiqué and Cultural Umbrella Apollo are organizing an Orange Aloha Party together, where we will dance to the sound of warm summer nights! Orange is the color that unites us as associations and therefore the theme is orange with a touch of aloha! So get your best orange hawaiian shirts out and dance with us on April 21st in Aspen Valley! Doors open at 21.00h, and the first 30 people to enter will receive a beautiful flower necklace. The dance associations Arabesque, Break-Even, Chassé, 4 happy feet and Primo Ballerino invite you to the annual Apollo Dance Show 2023 in the Agora, Vrijhof!
Together they will guide you through the different facets of Royalty and bring you on a journey you will never forget. If you want to fit in, wear something royal!

The shows will be on Friday 17th March & Saturday 18th March. The online ticket sale is now closed, but you can still purchase them at the door (in the Foyer/at the Agora) as well!

The show on Friday 17th March starts at 20.00. Ticket sales and check start at 19.30 and you can enter the room from 19.45 on.

The show on Saturday 18th March starting at 15.00. The ticket check/sale will start at 14.30, you will be able to enter the room from 14.45 on.

On Saturday the 28th of January Apollo will host the annual Winter Fair again! During this day, everyone is welcome to enjoy the coziness of winter with fun activities, workshops and performances. It takes place between 14:00 – 20:00 in the Vrijhof. You can choose to stay the entire day, or just pop in and out for a quick workshop.

Charity
During the WinterFair, the goal is to raise money for a charity. This year’s charity will be “Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur Enschede”. This fund provides children from fewer income families to participate in sports and culture. The money raised during the Winter Fair will be donated by Apollo to this charity. So make sure to come by to show your support! However, we still made sure to keep all prices affordable (with the option to donate more) and also have activities you can join for free!

Workshops
We have fun workshops you can join, like an improvisation theatre workshop by Pro Deo, a street dance workshop by Yoshua (from Break-Even) and a regular theatre workshop by NEST. These workshops will last around an hour, you can join a workshop for just €3, which will entirely go to charity! You can (but don’t have to) sign up using the following LINK. This will help us estimate how many people will be joining the activities.

Performances
We will have a choir performance by Musilon, where they will sing some nice Christmas carols, because it’s never too late to enjoy some Christmas spirit. Furthermore, UTMost will give a concert with their jazzcombo. Performances will last about half an hour, and will cost only €1.50 to watch, which will go to charity!

Activities
There are also various activities you can do throughout the day, like watching a movie on a big screen, doing some fun karaoke, or playing Just Dance! Most of these activities you can join for free, so make sure to stop by!

General
Next to these, you can also of course just have a fun time and hang out the whole day, play some board games in the Apollo room, and enjoy some nice drinks and snacks!

Show your talents during the Apollo Open Stage 2023!

On Friday the 17th of February, 20:00, the Apollo open stage will take place!

During this evening, students can show their talents on the stage in the Agora, in the Vrijhof. All types of acts are welcome. If you have a great idea that is not one of the options, please let the committee know as well, and we can see what is possible.

Sign-ups are open from Monday 21st of November until Monday the 19th of December. The committee will need to have all the additional information for your act before the 1st of January. Additional information can be music files, special requests, changes in your act, etc.

In order to promote the open stage and decorate the Agora, every act has to send in a poster (in pdf format) before the 1st of January. This could be a graphic design, a picture or a visual representation of anything related to your act. Make sure the name of your act is on it.

Find your date event

Before the gala starts, we want to give all of you a fun, casual moment to find your date. (Or just get in the gala mood together with your friends.) The drink will be in the Vrijhof, and halfway, from 17.00 until 18.00 there will be a one of a kind dating workshop by Pro Deo! So, do you want to get those dating skills on point, learn some spicy pick-up lines, or just have a fun time together with the rest of us? Come join us on the 24th of March!

Corsage event

Of course, now that you all have a date (or not), it’s time to arrange your corsage! During this day you are welcome to come to the Atelier and use all the supplies we bought to make your own galaxy themed corsage. There will be examples and help available for anyone who needs it.

Dance workshop

During this amazing dance workshop given by our very own 4HappyFeet you will learn the basis of some dances that you can use during the Gala! And most importantly, during the opening dance! We hope to see you all there 🙂

22nd of April: 21.00 until 1.00
The Gala!

Finally time for the gala! Together with all of you we will be going to space for an entire evening! From 9 o’clock at night we will be welcoming you to Rico Latino to have a wonderful night together, all in the theme of ‘Fly Me To The Moon’. AT half past nine, the live band will start, and we will all dance the opening dance together on the song that matches our theme perfectly. You can buy your tickets in our shop on the website, and then pick them up at the Apollo room. We can’t wait!
